His Excellency the Minister of Municipalities & Housing, Mr. Majid bin Abdullah Al-Hogail, inaugurated today the PDM infrastructure projects procedures guide in the municipal sector, on the sidelines of the Transformation Forum in Infrastructure Projects Management. His Excellency also opened the exhibition accompanying the forum and listened to an explanation of the services provided to the beneficiaries.
During the ceremony, His Excellency stressed that the infrastructure project procedures guide comes within the Ministry's steps to achieve the goals of the Kingdom's Vision 2030, with the aim of developing infrastructure and reaching Saudi cities to the world, by aiming to include at least three Saudi cities in the list of the best hundred cities to live in the world by 2030. .
Al-Hogail added, “We seek to create sustainable success through strategic partnerships with the contracting sector and engineering offices, and work with them to develop systems and procedures that raise levels of competitiveness in terms of quality and efficiency, which will positively affect life in Saudi cities.”
His Excellency the Minister of Municipalities & Housing indicated that, based on the belief in the importance of the services provided by the Ministry to the beneficiaries, procedural and organizational guides have been approved to help specialists implement projects with the required quality in accordance with the requirements of urban designs, according to correct practices in project management to ensure the satisfaction of the beneficiaries of those projects. Projects, stressing that the municipal sector, represented by the Ministry and the secretariats, works in partnership with the Saudi Council of Engineers and the Saudi Contractors Authority on a set of initiatives that aim to support, support and develop the construction system.
His Excellency explained that the Ministry seeks to implement these procedures and standards on more than 6,800 infrastructure projects that will be implemented during the next 5 years, based on the guide that was launched according to best practices in the implementation of infrastructure projects, which will be a reference for contractors and designers to increase productivity, control quality and achieve Transparency and clarity of project owners requirements according to the highest standards.
After that, His Excellency witnessed a dialogue session within the activities of the forum entitled: (The role of project management guides to achieve the goals of the Kingdom's Vision 2030). He also witnessed the signing of a number of memorandums of understanding and honoring the participants.
